Hydroponics

The hydroponics labs are used to grow fruit and vegetables for the crew. Each 100 square meter of hydroponics uses 100 litres of water a day. This can be reduced to 90 litres per day without any major effect. Reducing it below 90 litres per day will start to affect the output of the labs. 

Each 100 square meter of hydroponics increases crew moral by 1% for 10 individual crew members. This means the crew moral increases by the following rate each day.

((Number_Of_Hydroponic_Sections) * 10) / Total_Number_Of_Crew

If the section of the hydroponics lab is breached to space, then all of the fruit and veg will be destroyed.

Power Requirements

Each 100 square meter section uses 0.1MW of power per day. 

Dev Notes

The moral will be affected if the water is cut below 90 litres per day (to simulate loss of fresh produce). Therefore cutting the water to 45 litres per day would only produce 0.5 the moral boost that this section would normally provide.

A similar formula needs to be derived for cutting the power to the hydroponics area.
