Heretics

This is the name the Ramans have given all races of the Federation. Early contact has proved to the Children of Ra that there is no possibility of converting the Federation over to their religion. In the eyes of the Ramans this can only be dealt with by death, however they are unsure of the strength and capabilities of the Federation. This uncertainty has prevented them from launching an all out attack until they are certain they will be triumphant. A large loss in battle to the Heretics would shake the Empires belief in Ra - and the Ramans know this.

If however Federation ships stray near Raman ships the Ramans will undoubtedly attack and call in reinforcements.

Dev Notes

The Ramans are very intelligent and tactically aware. They will not outright attack a superior craft but will use other races to soften up the target before hand. Therefore venturing deep into Raman space will become a long drawn out series of engagements for the Federation Starship. It should be possible to defeat the main Raman force but it will require a lot of research and resources.
